| Sunday 11th June | 1-4pm | Glenfrome Primary School,
Cottisford Road,
Eastville | We need lots of you lovely people to come to the first ever community workday in the school garden.
What? a bit of mulching 'n' munching cake, planting, tidying etc.
Why? 'cos it's the school's summer fair on Saturday 17th June (please come then as well, and donate/buy plants - it all helps keep the garden growing...), and we want it to look gorgeous & inspiring & stuff like that, and we've been too distracted & busy putting in the new pond with the kids to get it sorted before now!
(It'll help if you can bring some tools etc. Also, we may not be able to access the school building - if not, no toilet/shelter, but i'm sure we'll be able to improvise somehow...) | Sally Woods sally@woods135.fsnet.co.uk |
| Saturday 10th + Sunday 11th June | 10.30am start | boiling wells (through the tunnel from St Werberghs Farm) | The youth project at boiling wells is hoping to create an open air perfomance space (think Minack Theatre..?) Unfortunately there's a motley collection of derelict pig sheds there at the mo.
A group of us are going to demolish them and you are all welcome to come and join in or make tea at your own risk (I meant the demolishing is at your own risk but tea making has its dangers as well).
You don't have to be handy with a sledge hammer, just interested and smiley.
There will be food and drink (but of course bring some more if you can) and who knows what saturday evening might bring!
You will need to bring old clothes, strong protective footwear, gloves and if you have them, sledge hammers, barrows, crow bars, mars bars and muscle. | They need to know how many people to expect so please let Steve or Tara know if you are coming!
meekydotcom@yahoo.com |
| Wednesday 14th June | 7.30pm – 10pm | Castle Green Church Hall,
Easton | Willow weaving workshop 3.
* Weave a giant spinning corn dolly spiral.
* Weave a 'fruit platter' basket.
£9 / £7 concs inc. materials and hot drinks. | For more info and bookings, contact Bethan Stagg
Tel. 0117 9027913/07792955614
bethanstagg@yahoo.co.uk |
| Thursday 22nd June,
Thursday 20th July | 7pm | St. Werberghs City Farm area | Herb walks.
Sue and Julia plan to meet outside the cafe, then wander along local paths identifying wild plants and talking about their medicinal and folk uses. They like to emphasise safe and environmentally sustainable approaches to using plants. Both of them are members of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, and have been in practise locally for over 18 years, so have lots of experience to share. People need to be aware about accessibility (rough, narrow, muddy paths), and so wear appropriate footwear. | Julia Green 9248133
Sue Redfern 9538198 |
| Saturday 8th July | | St. Werberghs City Farm | St. Werberghs Summer Fair.
If you can run workshops for kids or adults in art, crafts, juggling, storytelling, health or anything else interesting we are looking for volunteers to help make the St werburghs Summer Fair the best ever. We have had very little funding this year so we're relying on creative big-hearted types to come and help out. Its always a brilliant day and money raised goes towards keeping the Farm running and the chickens happy. Workshops of any length (from an hour upwards) would be very welcome. Also seeking stewards for the day.
Further note from Sarah:
Hi folks
Am looking to put together a programme of green talks, walks and workshops at St Werburghs City Farm in September/October. Would like to get a leaflet for the Farm fair on 8th July. If you could do a talk or lead a walk or teach practical skills please let me know. Any permaculture, gardening, wildlife, arts, crafts, food or health related subject would be great. We are trying to get some funding so tutors should be paid a small fee.
Get in touch.
Cheers
Sarah | The Farm on 9428241, or email Gail farmsummerfair@yahoo.co.uk |
We rarely have meetings but tell eachother about events, courses, workshops and social occasions via BPG-Post. The email BPG-Post and BPG-Talk are administrated by Bristol Permaculture Group. We use a free service from Yahoo! called "Yahoo! Groups". Each of the groups have a page which describes the groups and allows members access to the group's archives. You can join either of these groups by going to their groups page and clicking join or by sending an email.

The email BPG-Post and BPG-Talk are administrated by Bristol Permaculture Group. We use a free service from Yahoo! called "Yahoo! Groups". If you decide to join the group via the home page and you don't have a "Yahoo! ID" you will have to fill in some forms to get one. If you want to avoid having to get a Yahoo!
If you have joined the a Yahoo! Group before using this method or you use Yahoo!'s email service then you will automatically have a Yahoo! ID and you will just have to type your normal user name and password.
This can all be a bit complicated, but the page on Yahoo!'s website should sort you out.

!!!BPG-post
To join this group go to the BPG-Post's page or automatically subscribe by email by posting anything to BPG-Post-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Once you have joined you will get regular announcements about BPG events and other fun stuff which I am too lazy to type out. Only selected moderators can post to this group. If you want to become a moderator, then contact this us. You will need a non-HoTMaiL email account. If you have something you want to post on this group then ask at BPG-Talk, or post it straight to a %5B bpg-post-owner@yahoogroups.com | the moderator.s%5D.
